A distinguished Vietnam War veteran, Gerald witnessed firsthand the inadequate support provided to returning service members—an experience that ignited his lifelong mission to ensure future generations of veterans receive the recognition, comprehensive support, and essential resources they have earned through their service.

Gerald's foundational values were shaped in a disciplined German-American household where integrity and hard work were paramount. Demonstrating remarkable initiative from an early age, he began contributing to his family's livelihood at just ten years old, developing and managing multiple paper routes. These early entrepreneurial experiences cultivated the business acumen and leadership skills that would later drive his successful ventures and inform his strategic approach to veteran advocacy.

His dedication to the veteran community extends beyond The Blue Wolf Foundation through his active leadership roles in both the American Legion and the Moose Lodge, where he continues to advance critical veteran initiatives.
